As the end of the year approaches, it’s time to look back and see which marketing plans worked best for your business. Last year, nearly 400,000 people voted for their favorite local businesses across eastern Massachusetts in the 21st Annual Readers Choice Awards. The competition invites a community to vote for their favorite local business and reward the stores and professionals that offer the best products and services with the “Readers Choice” title. Since the late 1990s, the Readers Choice Awards have been a way for your customers to tell you have earned their respect and business.
The tradition will continue next year as well! Starting on January 16, 2017, we will be accepting digital and print ballots for the 22nd Readers Choice Awards! For four weeks, until February 6, 2017, everyone in the community can vote once for their favorite local businesses. The business with the most votes wins the award for the category in their town.
Right now, you are most likely putting the finishing touches on your holiday business plans. But as you are creating last minute ads and restocking shelves for customers, also start to think of ways you can promote the Readers Choice Awards. In your store you can add signage or highlight the winning certificates that you’ve collected in the past. Even during the holiday rush, make people aware that your business is a favorite among members of the community. If you haven’t won an award before, let people know what the Readers Choice Awards are and how they can vote for you.
The month of January is the time to let consumers know to get out and vote for your business!
