As digital communication between consumers and businesses becomes more fluid, it’s important for customers to be able to easily share your business’s information. In fact, a new Facebook feature has made sharing your business’s information easier and more dynamic.
Facebook's “Recommendation“ feature is rooted in crowdsourcing; the act of a person asking their friends on social media for entertainment, food, service, or product suggestions. While Facebook has always been a place for people to offer advice, the “Recommendation” tool brings up a business’s fan page and location on a map for a customer to find more easily.
The Recommend feature works this way:
1) A user is looking for a new pizza place to try.
2) Facebook will then ask the user if they want to activate “recommend” in the replies. This will then open up a map as part of their post.
3) Each time a friend comments on the post with the name of a business, Facebook will find that business and locate it on the map to be used as a reference.
To ensure your business appears properly as a Facebook recommendation, make sure your fan page includes your contact information and location.
Keeping your business’s information up to date on Facebook allows customers to recommend your business to anyone looking for resources related to your business. With this new feature, Facebook has made it easy for people to find and share the businesses that they love, including yours.
