Five Additional Ways to Advertise with Wicked Local | Wicked Local Media Solutions

For the last two weeks, we’ve shared ten different ways that you can advertise your brand on the WickedLocal.com network. The types of advertising have been diverse in size and how they feature your content; each one designed to connect with one of our 2.8 million viewers in their own unique way. However, they are not the only ways available to engage with consumers through our 160 hyperlocal news sites. Here are five additional types of digital advertising opportunities Wicked Local offers.

1) Billboard

The billboard ad begins as a small header image under the site navigation, but within seconds of the page loading, expands from pencil width to a larger clickable image. With this ad unit you can select an image that represents your brand and also provide a message that engages and inspires readers to click on the ad to get more information. The Billboard ad remains at its full size for ten seconds, before it reduces back down to pencil width. The full billboard may include 8 seconds of animation.

2) The Interstitial Ad

An interstitial ad appears when the user clicks on a story or one of the navigation buttons. The image or animated advertisement appears in full color and in front of a blacked out screen that includes a countdown that lets readers know how long they will have access to the ad. This time limit encourages the audience to engage with the call-to-action, because it creates a sense that immediate action is needed. The 825 x 525 pixel ad offers a business a lot of real estate to promote their business or promotion with a full image, text, and animation.

3) Video

Web users are viewing video content online, so it shouldn’t be any surprise that video advertisements are also popular with customers. We offer three different styles of video ad display; a full sized ad, a medium rectangle and the video by itself. The full size and medium rectangle allow your video to have an image that can contain information and a call-to-action to watch the video. The video ad will just feature the ad playing on the page without any further context. All video ads are limited to a 30 second video message.

4) Rectangle

The rectangle appears at the top of the home page and every section page. It may not be the biggest ad on the page, but it is one of the most prominent. It’s the the second ad unit your eyes will see as they read down the page. It’s right under the top classified sections in the navigation bar. Plus, it’s near the promotions scroll which offer national and local news updates and promotions. A rectangle is a great spot for your business’s logo and a simple message.

5) Mobile Ads

As more of our digital readers turn to mobile devices to read news and receive news updates, we offer mobile advertising that readers can’t miss. Wicked Local offers small businesses the opportunity to have leaderboard images that show up on the top of every mobile page.

Your business shouldn’t be represented by just one type of digital advertisement on a single portion of a page. Every consumer engages with digital content in a different way, so having more advertising opportunities available to spread your brand’s message means you are more likely to have a higher rate of customer engagement. As the types and popularity of digital advertising will continue to increase, your business can grow along with the technology.
