Throughout the year, marketing trends emerge that set the tone for consumer engagement. These trends are driven by technology and the needs of customers. Some, like video, continue to grow each year with increased demand while others fade out. Here are three emerging marketing trends to look for in 2018.
1) Voice Marketing
For the last few years, voice command technology has become more accessible to consumers. According to Google, 20% of its mobile queries are via voice search. This is going to be a key advertising space that businesses can use to market their products and services. Like search engine marketing, you’ll have the ability to purchase a “recommended” result for your business. Voice marketing will also allow your business to have active long-form keywords as a part of your search engine optimization.
2) Personalizing Your Message
Personalized marketing messages help develop relationships with consumers and they also deliver results. It makes customers feel noticed by the businesses they shop with and thus more attentive to their promotions. You can already personalize emails, but the next step is utilizing personalization in text messages, landing pages, digital ads, and other promotional materials.
3) Using MicroInfluencers
In 2018, expect to see more businesses try to market their brand with microinfluencers. These are customers who are active on social media and have a dedicated social following. They may not be an a-list celebrity, but they are well known and their fans respect their opinion and have a relationship with them. Look for microinfluencers in your community that can connect with consumers and encourage them to visit your business and use your products.
