Settled in 1629, Marblehead is one of the oldest towns in the Commonwealth. It’s also one of the best places north of Boston to shop, eat and enjoy the outdoors. One of the signature landmarks of the town is Town House Square, which prominently features Marblehead’s Old Town House. Built in 1727, the building has been used for over 250 years as a place for debate and discussion. It is still used for a meeting space and as a museum for the Marblehead Police Department. Surrounded by shops and restaurants, Town House Square has been an important part of Marblehead’s history.
