The new year is here! The 2017 slate is wiped clean and it’s time to prepare your 2018 marketing strategy. This is a great time to flip forward through the calendar and plan the dates for your upcoming promotions.
What marketing messages brought customers to your business in 2017? If they were seasonal or holiday centric, or product specific, you can use those as a blueprint for your 2018 strategy. On your calendar include annual promotions or community events you might take part in. A timeline for events will help you keep marketing messages from competing with each other.
As you are building your marketing calendar, note how you are going to use digital, print, and social media as a part of your advertising strategy. When you set dates for your promotions, also create a list of the marketing messages you want to use for each platform. Think of the different customers you are reaching as you write your copy and create messages that are designed to target the audience you are trying to reach.
Take the time to plan out campaigns for the rest of the year early. Organizing and planning your marketing messages will help you accurately launch each of your promotions and help lead you to a successful campaign.
