Recently, Wicked Local, in partnership with WCVB5 and MeTV, hosted the first Best Years Expo at Gillette Stadium. We were able to bring businesses, government agencies, health care professionals, and speakers to an event that was targeted toward men and women in their 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Our goal was to create an event that would introduce our customers to local organizations in order to help them plan for their future adventures.
With 60 exhibit booths and more than four thousand guests attending, the Best Years Expo was successful in creating that business and customer connection. The event was a success for everyone involved.
Guests who visited the expo shared their positive experiences with The Enterprise, in a story about the event. Marri Forrester of Bridgewater said, “I couldn’t wait to get here. We’re looking at everything.” Pamela Fields of Milford reacted to the expo by saying, “I”m having a great time,” and was excited for the cooking demonstrations by Hannafords.
Our vendors also had similar positive reviews of the event. Attorney Richard Feigenbaum was excited by the turnout and was eager to start planning for next year’s expo. Mandy St. Hillaire, of Next Step Living, agreed with that sentiment and said, “It was a great event for us! Looking forward to next year.” Carolyn Weston, the Show Director, Boston RV & Camping Expo, called the event “well managed and marketed and we felt was worthwhile to be representing RV lifestyle.”
This type of feedback is critical to any business, whether they are running a large expo or just a weekly promotion. The reviews are great resources for a business owner to use when planning future promotions.
Internally, it shows your organization that your event was successful. The people who invested time and energy in the planning and execution of any promotion want to know that their hard work paid off. Externally, you can use these quotes to promote future events you intend to host.
Every review you receive is a learning opportunity. The negative reviews will give you an indication about how the event needs to change to stay compelling and competitive. The positive reviews will help you streamline your promotion to appeal to more people. They are the blueprints to creating a successful event every time.
