Throwback Thursday: Celebrating Somerville's Marshmallow Fluff

On Wednesday, it was announced that Kraft and Heinz food companies would merge to become The Heinz Kraft Company. One of Kraft's most notable (and sweetest) foods has history here in Massachusetts. I'm talking about Marshmallow Fluff.

Throwback Thursday: Celebrating Somerville's Marshmallow Fluff | Wicked Local Media Solutions

In 1917, Somerville resident Archibald Query invented Fluff and sold it door-to-door. He would later sell the formula to candymakers from Lynn for $500. For almost 100 years, Americans have used it in sandwiches and on ice cream sundaes. Every year, Somerville residents celebrate the sweet spread with the “What the Fluff?” festival in Union Square.
