Throwback Thursday: Classic Businesses in Quincy

Posted by Nick Pizzolato on Thu, Nov 03, 2016 @ 01:42 PM

One of my favorite things about going back and looking at old photos of cities and towns in Massachusetts is that although fashion, styles, and trends may change, business districts remain the same. It’s not unusual to find out a photo that shows popular business from the past and discover that a current store still thrives there.

This is what 1550 Hancock Street in Quincy looked like in the 1920s. The cars may be different but storefronts were open and accessible to a variety of customers. If you search the address on Google Maps, you will find more cars in the photo, but businesses are still open and people are shopping.

Do you remember any of the businesses pictured here? We would love to see and hear your stories. Share them with us at Wicked Local Media Solutions or tweet us @WLMediaSolution.
