Throwback Thursday: Election Day

Posted by Nick Pizzolato on Thu, Feb 25, 2016 @ 11:38 AM

This Tuesday, voters across Massachusetts will head to the polls and vote in the 2016 Presidential Primary election. No, this post isn’t an endorsement of any political party, candidate, or platform. It is a reminder, that if you can make it to the polls, please cast your vote. This picture was taken in 1972 in Arlington.

I like that we still vote on paper ballots in portable privacy booths. As other states start adopting electronic voting booths, Bay Staters still color-in their selection with a marker. When I cast my vote on Tuesday it will be the same way, these votes were cast. Technology is great, but sometimes you don’t need to fix something that already works. Although, I’m pretty sure it’s frowned upon to look to see who your neighbor is voting for.

We would love to hear about your favorite election day stories. Were you at a candidate’s victory party? Did you hold up a signs in support of an elected official? Email them to Wicked Local Media Solutions or tweet us @WLMediaSolution.
