Throwback Thursday: Natick - Home of the First Baseball Factory

In 1858, the first baseballs were manufactured in a Natick, Massachusetts factory. H. Harwood & Sons fabricated the baseballs designed by John W. Walcott and Col. William A. Cutler. The baseballs were used across the United States and Canada. They also manufactured baseball bats. Here’s a receipt from 1871 that notes the different brands of balls and bats they produced.
