Throwback Thursday: Shipping Gifts for the Holidays

Although many of us try to be with our friends and family during the holidays, sometimes distance can get in the way of spending time with each other. When we can’t give holiday gifts to each other in person, we turn to postal carriers to help us during the season of giving. Last year, as online shopping continued to grow, the USPS, FedEx, and UPS delivered more than 900 million gifts. Even though the number of packages being shipped has grown through the years, the weeks leading up to the holidays have always been a busy time for package delivery services.08_06_035698.jpg

This picture, taken in 1942, shows that even before online shopping, there were always piles of holiday packages to be sorted and delivered. So, make sure you give yourself extra time when using a shipping service this holiday season.
