The end of Summer brings warm days and offers a few nice weekends to have some close-to-home fun before Fall sets in. It’s not out of the ordinary to discover a local county fair or festival in your area, as communities come together and look to celebrate local businesses at the end of the season. For instance, this weekend, you can take part in the 17th Annual Rochester County Fair in Rochester, Massachusetts.

Throwback Thursday: The Rochester County Fair

In 1999, the 1st Rochester County Fair took place, according to their website, as “a celebration to welcome a new millennium and to reflect upon the one which we had just left.” The fair offers plenty of events for the entire family, including; tractor pulls, a frog derby (you must supply your own frog), live music, magic shows, baking and cooking competitions, games, mechanical bull riding, local vendors, tasty food and much more. The fair starts today, August 18th and ends this  Sunday, August 21st. You can get more information here.

Did you go to any of the previous sixteen Rochester County Fairs? We would love to hear if you won a race or a baking contest, performed music, or just want to share about the great time you had. Send your photos and stories to Wicked Local Media Solutions or tweet us @WLMediaSolution.
