The start of fall means the days begin to get shorter, the nights become a little cooler, and it’s time for the Annual What the Fluff Festival to take place in Somerville, Massachusetts. For the last ten years, What the Fluff has celebrated the sugary marshmallow condiment that was invented in Somerville in 1917 by Archibald Query. The festival is completely unique and an incredibly fun experience. As you can see from this 2013 photo, it can get pretty crowded in Union Square.
The 10th Annual What the Fluff Festival will feature games, like the marshmallow tossing contest and Fluff jousting. Adults will be entertained by local musicians and artists on the main stage and children can take part in activities like Fluff bowling and ring toss. Chefs can submit their best Fluff treats to be judged in cooking challenges too. Plus, there will be dozens of local vendors there who will be selling crafts, food and offering various community services.
