Posted by Nick Pizzolato on Tue, Nov 25, 2014 @ 12:38 PM

In the year 2000, if you had told me that I would be able to watch crystal clear video on my mobile phone, I would not have believed you. Today, I can watch sports, movies and TV shows when I’m no where near a TV.

Learning the Lingo: Call-to-Action

Posted by Nick Pizzolato on Fri, Nov 14, 2014 @ 01:06 PM

Learning the Lingo is a series of posts that will investigate marketing terms, ideas and strategies. Our topic today: Call-to-Action.

As a person, you may not want attention drawn to you. You may want to quietly live your life and not be exposed to the public eye. You don’t want to be a hermit, but you also don’t want people intruding on your life.

And that’s fine. Some of the greatest thinkers, artists and people have lived their lives that same way.

But if you run a business, you crave attention. You demand attention. You want everyone to know about your business. If they know about your business, they will follow your business. If they follow your business, they will want to know about your promotions, events and news. All the work you put into marketing your business is so your customers will see these announcements and act on them.

That’s a call-to-action (or CTA). It’s an instruction to a customer that will drive them to make a purchase or at the very least learn more about why your business is the best place to buy a product. It’s such an integral part of any business that you are probably already doing it, without knowing it.

Learning the Lingo: Your Brand Ambassadors

Posted by Nick Pizzolato on Fri, Oct 24, 2014 @ 03:21 PM

Learning the Lingo is a series of posts that will investigate marketing terms, ideas and strategies. Our topic today: brand ambassadors.

You might be asking, "What is a brand ambassador? It sounds very formal. Do I need to invest a lot of money and resources into it? Do you think Beyoncé will promote my product or business on the red carpet if she becomes my brand ambassador?"

I have good news and bad news. The good news: it’s not that formal and usually no extra compensation is required. The bad news: Beyoncé probably will not mention your product. (Although, that’s a fantastic goal to have - never give up on it.)

A brand ambassador is anybody that can sell your business or product by engaging with customers, instead of selling it to them like a typical sales person would. These are people who are connected with your business and committed to seeing it succeed.
