Throwback Thursday: Main Street in Melrose, Ma

Almost every town has a Main Street, and they usually represent one of the major hubs of small businesses within that community. This photo is of the Main Street in Melrose, Massachusetts and was taken sometime during the mid-20th century. Melrose was originally part of both Charlestown and Malden, and eventually became a separate town in 1850 and then became a city in 1899. Today, more than 27,000 people call it home and a part of Main Street is included in the National Register of Historic Places.
