Nearly everyone is looking for ways that they can be healthier. People try different foods, exercise routines, and relaxation techniques in order to feel better. With so much information available, it can be discouraging to even pick a place to start the wellness journey. Wicked Local has established an event that can help you discover new activities, meals, and gives you the tools you need to lead a more healthy lifestyle, all in one location.
The Wicked Local Health and Fitness Festival is a full day of classes, activities, and seminars that are focused on helping you be active and improve your general fitness. The event, being held at Cross Insurance Pavilion at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts is free to the public, and will feature experts in nutrition, fitness, and athletics that will all be on hand to help you.
The Festival is designed to keep our guests engaged and active throughout the entire day. Whether it’s taking part in an early morning workout or having the opportunity to ask former Boston Celtic Leon Powe a question about the 2008 championship run, there are plenty of things for the entire family to do at the Health and Fitness Festival.
There will be fitness teachers on hand to guide you through some of the workouts that are trending locally. Andy Berler, creator of Berler Maximum Activation Xtreme, will be demonstrating BMAX, the official workout of the New England Patriots Cheerleaders. Kisa Kohne, from Fierce Love Fitness, will be leading a Zumba class for those interested in the popular dance workout. In the afternoon, Elite Dance Center’s Lindsay Denault will showcase a new training program called Piloxing. All of the classes are open to anyone who wants to join and find the program that’s right for them.
The Health and Fitness Festival has also scheduled a collection of diverse and engaging speakers and presenters. Dr. Ellen Geminiani, from Boston Children’s Hospital, will share the latest information on concussions and sports medicine. Coaches from CoachUp will be on hand to talk to young athletes and help them sharpen their skills. Wellness Services Project Manager, Donna Dolan, will show you ways to create tasty and healthy meals in the Shaws Pavilion.
The New England Revolution’s Battalion will be there with activities and conducting accuracy drills. Guests will also be able to take a photo with the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy, learn how to train like a Ninja Warrior, try out the Bike Bus, take part in a Crossfit Challenge with Crossfit 617, and so much more.
The Wicked Local Health and Fitness Festival is free and open to the whole family. Get ready to break a sweat, meet with local vendors, learn a delicious new recipe, get information about athletic training, and be active the entire day. We will see you at the Cross Insurance Pavilion at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, September, 17th at 10 AM!
